KaraFun setup
How do I connect StageVotes to KaraFun?
Set up the remote link once for your account, then connect it for each show.
- Open KaraFun on the computer that will play the music and start its remote session.
- Copy the KaraFun remote link or channel number shown for that session.
- In StageVotes, open Account → KaraFun Integration. Paste the remote link into KaraFun Remote Link or Channel, then save your account settings.
- Open tonight’s show in the host dashboard. In Mission Control, select Connect KaraFun.
- Wait for KaraFun Connected. If StageVotes says Start the KaraFun player, open or restart the player on the music computer and give it a moment to reconnect.
Keep KaraFun running during the show. StageVotes can send upcoming songs to KaraFun and advance the queue as playback changes. You can still manage the show manually if the connection drops.
What if KaraFun will not connect?
Check that the saved remote link or channel matches the session currently running in KaraFun. Start the KaraFun player, then select Connect KaraFun again in Mission Control. If the player restarts mid-show, allow a few seconds for StageVotes to reconnect. A connected bridge with an offline player will show Start the KaraFun player.
How do I hide explicit songs from singer choices?
First add your KaraFun channel in Account settings. In the host dashboard, find Singer Signups and check Exclude explicit songs from singer choices. This uses KaraFun’s explicit ratings, and unrated new songs remain hidden until the catalog is updated. Turn on KaraFun Parental Control as well if you want to prevent explicit playback outside StageVotes.

Singers & queue
How do singers add themselves and choose songs?
Open your show and share the singer signup QR code or link with the room. Singers open it on their phones, enter their name, choose a song, and submit. They do not need to install an app. Hosts can also add singers from the host dashboard.
How do I stop new signups or additional songs?
In the host dashboard, use the Singer Signups panel. Select Pause Additional Songs to let new singers join while preventing people already in the queue from adding more songs. Select Close Signups to stop singers from joining or adding songs. Use the corresponding allow or reopen button when you are ready.
How does the singer queue handle multiple songs and skips?
StageVotes organizes singers into a fair rotation instead of placing every song from one person back to back. The host can adjust the queue, skip a performance, change a song, or remove one; the singer’s queue position reflects the live order.

Displays
How do I put the show on a TV?
Open tonight’s show and choose the live display in Mission Control. Move that browser window to the TV or a connected external screen and make it full screen there. The host dashboard stays available on your main screen. You can also open the KaraFun Display for its singer queue view.

Judging & voting
Do I need judging for a regular karaoke night?
No. Turn judging off for a casual show. Judge ballots and a judged leader are only relevant when judging is enabled. You can still run your singer queue and use the other show tools.
How do guests participate in voting?
Share the show’s audience QR code or link. Guests open it in their phone browser to participate in the voting options you enable for the show; no audience app download is needed.

Singer text alerts
How can singers get a text when their turn is close?
When adding a song, a singer can enter a mobile number and check the optional text alert consent box. They can also enable alerts from their singer queue screen. StageVotes sends on-deck and up-next updates for opted-in songs when text messaging is available. The host can review delivery status under Singer text alerts on the host page.
